I have been using BoilerSmith Ltd quite a long time. Our boiler was quite old, we decided to get a new boiler, so we asked Peter to install it. Before Peter came, he sent me an email explaining to me about the procedure in details. Peter and Darren came on time, it took one day and a half, they’re both very professional, kept the area clean, the boiler was installed properly on the first day, so that we could use hot water and heating. They checked all the radiators to make sure that it worked the next day and gave me a call after three days to make sure everything went well. Much appreciated that their work and effort. We'd used Boilersmith previously to replace some rusting radiators and didn't hesitate to use them again when we needed a new boiler and hot water cylinder. Pete's initial visit raised lots of questions and options and Pete was more than happy to spend time discussion them. There was never any pressure to take the more expensive option or to include things that we didn't need. Communications were excellent. For the two days of the install Pete and Darren worked together with the bare minimum of disruption, even leaving us with hot water after the first day's work. All flooring and carpets were protected prior to them starting work. As promised he followed up with a phone call a few days later to see if everything was ok, which it was. Boilersmith is a very professionally run business. I really recommend Peter and Darren of the Boilersmith Ltd. I had a new boiler put in that was relocated. Peter initially came round and listened to what I wanted. Peter also saved me money by saying the radiators were fine for a few more years. A lot of care was taken with the pipework by Darren - I'd explained that I wanted to put some shelves in the cupboard the boiler was being put in and he worked around that. Both worked non-stop when they were here and cleaned up after themselves, including blocking off the area where the old boiler was inside and out, patching up holes in the ceiling for some pipework that had been removed and hoovering. A very good experience all round. Both seemed very trustworthy and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

He communicated well during the quote and installation, explained all of the options clearly and was professional and efficient throughout. They took the time to assess the old boiler and system to ensure that the replacement met our needs and was compatible with features in the property, reducing the need for a complete piping re-work. As well as being extremely thorough (e.g., making sure all radiators were working, no leaks etc) they were also conscious of keeping disruption to a minimum while I worked from home. We can recommend Peter Smith without reservation. When the engineer from our gas suppliers struggled to get parts for our ageing Baxi back boiler, we took the hint and decided it was time to replace it. We had surveys carried out by half a dozen contractors, but quickly settled on Peter to carry out the work. He gave an air of competent professionalism from our first meeting; he returned to check measurements in our cupboard, which ruled out the use of some makes of boilers, and he was thoroughly focused for the three days of the work. When asked on his first visit, he was able to provide a provisional idea of cost, and it was close to the eventual written quotation. Peter was prompt in arriving when he said he would. His written communications were clear and helpful. He is courteous and knowledgeable, and he is clear and concise in explaining the processes and in answering questions. He supplied and fitted a Vaillant boiler in our airing cupboard. He installed gas piping from our supply up to the bathroom, flushed the system and decommissioned the old unit. Bearing in mind the need to drill through three walls and the ceiling, Peter worked quietly. The main noise that we were aware of was that of his vacuum cleaner. He was meticulous in keeping the place neat and tidy. He scheduled the work in such a way that we were never without hot water. Peter works hard. He is diligent and is always engaged with the task. All the required certificates and documents arrived promptly, and Peter followed up with a call to ensure that all was well. Peter Smith provides an excellent service.

Pete responded promptly to my initial enquiry about replacing a floor-standing boiler. Following inspection, he explained the work needed to install a wall-mounted system, which included significant changes to the pipework including under the floorboards in the bathroom and in the airing cupboard. He and Darren worked almost non-stop over two days to achieve the replacement and did an excellent job replacing the bathroom floorboards and filling/replacing brickwork for redundant holes in the wall – as well as cleaning-up generally. We had our boiler replaced by Boilersmith three weeks ago and we are absolutely happy with the level of quality we received starting from the first call to book an appointment to check our old boiler through to the installation process and after installation check up call. Peter was very quick to respond and let us know exactly when he could come over and have a look at the problem - a time he stuck to. Peter Smith is a very reliable, professional, knowledgable good communicator who clearly takes pride in producing an excellent standard of work all completed in an extremely neat, tidy and mess free fashion.

Peter carried out a new boiler and radiator installation for us, he has added radiators to the system as we have extended our property. Peter has also serviced our boiler and completed several general plumbing jobs. When he fitted a Hive thermostat for us his explanation of how to use it was very clear and understandable.

Peter was first called-upon to service our old Vaillant boiler some four or five years ago, and I believe on a subsequent occasion (apologies for my imprecise memory).  As well as exhibiting the highest standards of courtesy and ‘customer-friendly’ communication to talk us through the state of the boiler, he also resolved an issue with an elusive, persistent gradual loss of water pressure that had prevailed literally from its installation in 1998.  And, needless to say, the boiler itself continued to operate perfectly thereafter. So when the time came for its service last August, we were prepared to continue as before (assuming Peter found nothing seriously wrong).  However, aware that it was now twenty three years old and that winter was around the corner, we decided to request Peter to effect a long-overdue replacement.  We immediately accepted his fair quotation for what we can only describe as an impressive, thoroughly professional installation, conducted in an amiable and efficient manner with particular consideration given to maintaining a clean, non-disruptive working environment and restoration of all affected interior decor.  He explained and demonstrated all appropriate functionality as thoroughly and comprehensively as possible, taking care not to subject us to ‘information overload’, and made himself readily available to answer all queries we had thereafter.
