There might not be snails or frogs’ legs on the menu but there is inspiration from all over France – Provence, Burgundy, Alsace etc., at this very French brasserie. There is also a superb, sensibly priced French wine list too (you won’t find better locally). Easily the best of the chains (our opinion), this is the publisher’s default choice wherever we are in the UK. Open Mon–Sat 9am–10pm (9.30pm Sun). Card only. Easy to book online. Why go to Paris? Castle Street is nearer!
