We recently completed a full renovation of our 5-bedroom home in Whitchurch-on-Thames with Andrew, over a period of 9 months. The work included a first floor extension, remodelling of the whole property, groundworks, rewiring, replumbing and full redecoration. We are delighted with the result.

Our project involved constructing a single-storey front extension that significantly improved the functionality and aesthetic of the house, creating a larger lounge and an enclosed porch/boot room. Andrew has just completed our kitchen project (January 2025) which involved opening up two rooms to make a larger kitchen and then converting part of the garage into a utility room. He came highly recommended by a friend but we talked to several builders before choosing Andrew. Andrew was by far the easiest to communicate with and was honest and straightforward in his approach. He provided a detailed time schedule for the 12 week project and he stuck to it. He communicated regularly, was here to oversee everything and was easy to contact, always responding quickly to our queries. His team were all professional, friendly, undemanding and left the area clean and tidy each day. The project came through on budget and we are delighted with the result. We had absolute confidence in Andrew throughout the project and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

We met with several builders before selecting ADC for our project and found that Andy had a particularly good approach to working to an agreed schedule and budget. Our project was a large 2 -storey extension along with many other internal modifications to the existing property and a full facelift to the front elevation. Andy himself was easy to get hold of during the build, and always consulted us on deliveries, work scheduling and materials selection. We have had many compliments from friends, family and neighbours about the work they carried out, and we have recently recommended ADC to a neighbour who is looking for a professional local builder!

We reviewed several builders before selecting Andrew and his team and he was our first choice. Andrew is extremely easy to get on with and good fun, whilst being professional; he communicates very well and is in easy contact in person or by telephone, alternatively by text or e-mail. He is very knowledgeable and experienced and provided a detailed and fair quote.
One stand out aspect that we respect is that he is honest. He is also not afraid of offering an apology if something is not quite right – a very refreshing aspect these days. One small matter at hand turned out to be our error, but nevertheless he was extremely gracious. It was me who apologised to Andrew!
Andrew was on site virtually every day, often from 7.30am and would give a current update; he was very tolerant of our inane questions. His team were also great – friendly, tidy, polite, knowledgeable, trustworthy and they all did a fine job. They were never directed off to other jobs, slowing our project down and the build flowed smoothly.
Andrew is an experienced builder and actively project manages the job – he is not a distant project manager, with other interests, that you never see. He stuck to his quote and there were no hidden surprises.
Andrew had good contacts, tips and recommendations, which should be taken on board. Everything was finished as we had hoped and essentially within the timeframe set out.
It was a pleasure to have his company on site; we had faith in Andrew and his team and we were reassured when the job was undertaken. We would have them back again in the future and recommend ADC Building Solutions without hesitation.

Andrew has done two extensions for me at different houses and I have known him since 1999. He has just completed one in Pangbourne while we have been overseas ourselves. Andrew is absolutely trustworthy and completely competent as a builder. I know him not to deviate from the schedule of work that he provides. He is the only builder I know that I would trust to advise, quote honestly and complete to a spec without oversight.

We were looking to have a single storey extension built on the back of our 1930’s home, we now have that and I can say that we can’t recommend Andrew and his team enough. From the outset of the first meeting right through to the end of the project they were professional and inspired confidence and understanding in what we wanted and delivering on that.
During the consultation and bidding phase they quoted on all items we had spec’d (it was a very detailed spec), came with actual quotes for their work and the other trades rather than ‘a rough estimate’. ADC also came with a time scale of the planned work so we had a very good idea of what was going to be done and charged by when.
When it came to the actual build the work went as planned and when it didn’t (weather) the effort was put in to catch up and get back on schedule. When problems occurred they brought solutions rather than complaints and the communication was first rate throughout.
I’d admit they are not the cheapest builder out there but they are worth every penny, not only are they including the stuff that the other builders are guessing at or have forgotten. Typically meaning you’ll pay for it when you least expect it, but the quality was excellent and they kept to the scope and budget, finishing in the week they said they would.
The project was almost stress free thanks to Andrew and his team; the guys know what they are doing and are ever so friendly to deal with. I work in the construction industry and wouldn’t go anywhere else if I was looking for future building work.
