I contacted SJW Plumbing &Heating to get a small leak fixed and to enquire about having my stop tap moved. SJW Plumbing & Heating were able to attend the day after I confirmed that I would like them to undertake the work which was fantastic. Luke completed all of the work and I cannot rate him highly enough! He was polite, asked for permission to do things (e.g. to open a window, to take a cupboard door off so he could complete the work) and when going upstairs he always announced that he was on his way up and why. He also explained what he was doing which I appreciated and it was clear that he took pride in his work and made sure the pipe work looked nice. I found Luke to be very respectful of my property - he made sure to put dust sheets down and ensured that my floor wasn’t scratched by moving heavy appliances. Luke was also a very tidy worker and even hoovered behind the integrated units that he had to move in order to relocate the stop tap. He also hoovered the floor before leaving and even asked if he could mop the floors for me! To be completely transparent, I was concerned about the invoice taking a while to come through but the price was as agreed so my concern was unnecessary. Sam who I spoke to on the phone a couple of times was also very polite. I highly recommend SJW Plumbing and Heating particularly Luke.

Our Central Heating failed at the chilly and busiest time of the year for gas engineers yet Sam turned out the same day for us. Within two days he managed to find a part for our aged boiler and fit it, and at a fair price. The sort of guy who goes that extra mile. Hard-working, efficient and pleasant. I called Sam at SJW in need of an urgent quote for fixing a very old and failing heating system at my late parents-in-law house which was due to complete a sale in a week. He arrived the next day and he identified the problem quickly. He was able to fit us in before the house sale completed and his colleague Luke arrived on the promised day to fix a new pump and flush out the system. Luke was patient and personable, keeping us in the loop throughout a long day. He barely stopped to catch his breath. I have used SJW Plumbing and Heating several times now and I could not rate them high enough. Sam first came out to fix a leaky tap so no job is too small. Subsequently, he has serviced my boiler a couple of times and also sorted out an ongoing problem with it which has now been rectified by Ben, a member of his team, it was a simple case of fixing a couple of leaky radiators and fitting new valves. Sam even came out as quick as he could when I had a burst pipe last December and was left with no heating. Both Sam and Ben were very courteous and punctual and informed me every step of the way what day they would visit and what time. If they have to return to complete a job Sam instantly puts it in his calendar and asks you there and then if the date is convenient. Prices are not extortionate and jobs are booked in fairly quickly, this plumbing company is the best I have ever used in over 40 years of property ownership.

What an amazing service we’ve just received from SJW Plumbing & Heating. Our elderly Worcester-Bosch boiler failed to start up and we wasted a couple of days trying to contact our usual service engineer. Eventually we gave up and found Sam. He returned our call quickly and fitted in a visit later that day. He was friendly and professional, as well as very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts required and returned less than 24 hours later to fit them. He then carried out a complete service, to check everything was in full working order and gas safe. Sam’s workmanship and communication were excellent throughout. SJW Plumbing & Heating is a first-class company, which we highly recommend.

Sam came to us at short notice and diagnosed the problems with our 20+ year old heating system and gave us options of either repair or replacement. We decided on a new boiler together with a system upgrade. Sam's team were able to start the works within a couple of days and proved to be very competent and efficient. Special mention to Luke who spent two days with us fitting and commissioning the new system and also Sam and Ben who ensured that we had heat and hot water on a Friday evening prior to a visit by our family over the weekend. The team were friendly and the work areas were left clean and tidy including some plastering repair work for some re-routed cabling to the boiler. I will certainly use SJW for any future heating and plumbing works.

Sam came to service our 'Ideal Esprit' boiler at short notice, and kept me informed about the estimated time for the service visit, when other firms had simply said 'we don't service Ideal boilers'. When he found that our boiler was a combi boiler, but fitted to run a hot tank and CH system like a conventional boiler, he immediately phoned for advice to check that this was a safe and reasonable installation. His advice was practical and down to earth, and he helped us to understand the installation and operation of our system, which we inherited on moving here this year, with no information from the previous owner. We shared our concerns about the system thermostat and Sam gave us a new, more accurate unit for a very good price. I have asked Sam to undertake the annual service on our central heating and I shall consider him when we have other plumbing / CH work to do.

Sam saved the day for us with an emergency job we had. On the morning we were due to move house, our draining sink had a leak as it had corroded away. Surrounded by moving boxes and removal men, Sam came out to us really quickly, sorted the problem very efficiently and was gone before we packed the final bits in the van and left! We have been extremely pleased with the work Sam carried out on our boiler. The boiler broke down just before the service in the coldest period of the year and Sam had to deal with the unplanned job to bring back our heating as fast as possible. We are very happy with how promptly Sam Walker responded to our request to repair an electrical fault which had put our gas boiler completely out of action, and also how quickly he rectified this. We phoned him at about 5 pm having discovered the fault when the boiler failed to start as normal in the late afternoon, and he answered immediately although he was clearly out on another emergency call. Unsurprisingly he wasn't able to come immediately but he was with us soon after 10 the following morning and solved the problem very quickly by installing a new control panel. He took care to explain throughout what he was doing, was keen to make sure we could operate the unfamiliar bit of equipment and stressed that we should not hesitate to contact him if we found any problem. We though he was polite, efficient and skillful and don't hesitate to recommend him.

Recently I had a problem with my Baxi combi boiler and was left with no hot water right before Christmas! I was lucky to find Sam based on some very positive reviews I read about SJW Plumbing in the Little Green Book. Sam took the call immediately and came out on the same day to assess the problem with the boiler. He diagnosed the issue quickly and arranged to order the parts and fixed an appointment to have the boiler repaired in a couple of days. On the day Sam arrived promptly and went about his work meticulously. All through Sam was very communicative about what he was doing and went out of his way to clean the magnetic filter as well. Honestly he is one of the most professional, experienced, polite, and friendly plumber I've ever met! Everything from start to finish was just incredible and I will absolutely not hesitate to use his services again in the future.

Sam carried out an annual service on our warm air boiler in September. He gave us a two hour slot and called ahead on the day to keep us informed of his arrival time within that slot. He did a very thorough job of cleaning all of the parts and kept to his fixed price despite having to spend more time than intended thanks to a blown fuse. Very happy with the result and Sam is a very straight forward, honest, thorough and nice guy to deal with.

As my 35 year-old boiler had finally given up the ghost, I needed a new one, plus pump, valves and controls. SJW's workmanship was excellent and I was very impressed by the quality of the products used and the fact that they had all the right tools for the job. That should be a 'given', but sadly isn't always the case. Callum and Sam knew exactly what they were doing and were extremely hard working. The removal of the old flue outlet left a large hole in the external brickwork, but there was no half-baked make-do-and-mend; a proper (and skilled) bricklayer was brought in (part of the original quote) and he - Matt - did a superb job. Would I use Sam and his team again and would I recommend them? Unhesitatingly, "Yes."

Efficient. Cheap. Reliable. Prompt. Courteous. Knowledgeable. Thorough. I needed a new boiler and for waste and PRV pipes to be re-routed. Sam provided me with a very competitive quote, laid out the options for me and clearly explained how he would undertake the work. Once I accepted the quote I was quickly booked in a for a slot. Sam arrived the day before to flush out my radiators as well to ensure that once the new boiler was running it would yield maximum performance. Callum and Ishmail then turned up the following day (on the dot) and didn't stop working all day. They didn't leave until I understood how the system worked and the warranty for the appliance had been registered. They also left the place tidier than when they arrived. All 3 of them clearly love what they do and the service from start to finish was top notch with no dramas. I don't just recommend them, I'd suggest you'd be wasting your time going anywhere else.

Sam came to service our boiler and replace the waste on a basin. We had a leak in our bathroom following having it replaced 2 months previous. The plumber who fitted the new bathroom had been out and couldn’t find any issues. When Sam came he offered to take a look. He was able to locate the issue first time and fixed the issue. He explains things in a way you can understand and is very honest about what needs doing, not doing things that don’t need doing. He was very prompt, worked efficiently and got on with the job straight away once shown where everything was, which was perfect as I was busy working in my office. The installation is super neat and tidy, there were some challenges with configuration which Sam sorted out by phoning NEST support (nothing to do with his work, just that the device has a lot of options!), Sam did all of this with no drama, ensuring he left me with a fully working system, even though it took a little longer than planned, and he didn't charge any extra! Had a problem with our boiler (the central heating was stuck on and the house was trying to cook us alive!). Called Sam (on a recommendation from a friend) and he came round the next day to have a look at the boiler. Sam arrived when he said he would, quickly diagnosed the fault (faulty 2-port valve), replaced the faulty part and got the system back to working order on the same day. Sam was polite and professional and got the job done quickly without causing any mess or disturbance. The final bill was in line with the Sam's estimate and overall seemed like a fair price for his work. Sam came out within a few days of emailing him for a quote appointment and was able quickly to discern the issue with the kitchen pipes. Although, not intended in the quote, Sam also kindly checked out the dishwasher which had been displaying error lights and not running. He was fiddled with the connections for a few minutes and got the dishwasher running without requiring another visit and would have been able to fit another dishwasher if necessary. Sam was able to come back within a couple weeks of the quote to complete the pipe repairs and was quick and efficient at this as well. He made sure the pipes did not leak after the repair was complete and left no mess behind. I am very happy with his work and recommend him to anyone looking for great service.

Sam Walker is a lovely chap. He’s friendly and very professional.  I contacted him as my grandfather was in hospital after suffering a stroke and as he was being taken into hospital he had a leak from the pipe work in his kitchen ceiling.  His neighbour called out some cowboy who charged the earth and didn’t even fix it properly but switched his heating off. Sam came out and was able to power flush the system for us, change the 2 two port valves and service the boiler to ensure it was safe for my grandad. He also re did the pipe work in the ceiling as the cowboy had piped it up wrong. He restored the heating to the property which in turn allowed social services to allow my grandad home. 

I find Sam to be trustworthy, punctual and professional as well as communicating well with regards to keeping me updated on the status of the job.

I had leak, unknown to me, from the in loop water filter from the mains in to my flat which decide to start at around 10pm at night. I had been recommend to Sam previously but never had to use him, so thought I'd give him a try as he was local. He came over as soon as he could and quickly identified the problem.
