Following the successful boiler installation, we asked Kit to give a quote to remodel the bathroom. We knew that it was a big job as the lead and asbestos pipework would need replacing inside and out, the wall between the bathroom and toilet would come down, new bathroom fixtures and fitted cupboards would be installed and the new room plastered and tiled. He gave us a very detailed quote and was able to obtain the bathroom suite, cupboards, tiles and shower at a discount which he passed on to us. Kit's workmanship was exemplary, though it took a week longer than the three weeks planned because the tiling was more awkward. He tidied up every evening. The bathroom has been much admired and just removing a four inch thick wall has created a spacious bathroom.

Kit first came to us to look at a broken immersion heater which had also stopped the boiler. Having had no heat or hot water for three weeks, we were aware that the floor-standing boiler (over 30 years old) needed replacing as well. Having discussed all the options with Kit, we decided that with winter approaching, the boiler should be replaced as well as the tank and a couple of radiators; the other radiators would be power flushed. He quoted us a week to install a wall mounted boiler in a different place, sort out the spaghetti junction of pipes and replace or flush the radiators, depending on their condition – just two needed replacing. He worked efficiently and professionally, prioritising hot water with a new immersion and then installing a new boiler and radiators.. Kit also made everything tidy at the end of the day on the landing and in the kitchen. We now have a warm house and our gas bill will be reduced by £20 per month in 2020.

I requested a quote from Kit Wilkinson of Mains Plumbing and Heating as my 20+ year old boiler wouldn’t light. Kit visited and subsequently provided me with a concise and very business like quote, which told me exactly what he would provide and what he would do, including the bricking up of the holes where the flue for the boiler was and a flue for a wall mounted gas heater which I had removed and a new radiator plumbed in. Mains Plumbing and Heating wasn’t the cheapest quote but the service provided by Kit Wilkinson was exemplary and not invasive and the new boiler is working perfectly, so I am a very happy customer.

Kit fitted our boiler about 6 years ago, the work was really well organised, clean and tidied up immediately. I called him up when it stopped working, and he has just been out and carried out the repair. I have recommended Kit to many of my friends over the years, and the feedback to me has always been the same, he really is a genuinely good guy, who knows his trades, get him in for a quote, you really won’t be sorry.

Kit recently completed a small bathroom conversion in my terraced house. His prices were competitive and he completed the work quickly and efficiently. Kit is a very competent tradesmen with a broad range of skills that allow him to complete bathroom work with a very professional finish. He keeps disruption to minimum and always left his work space neat and tidy at the end of the day. My only caveat is that you make sure that the scope of work is very clearly established at the quotation stage. There were a couple of issues during the building work that I was not happy with, Kit make sure that these were put right to the best of his ability. Overall a pleasant and trustworthy tradesman who will produce work to a high specification. Recommended.

Replacement combi boiler and removal of hot and cold water tanks - Received a very competitive quote and agreed the contract with Kit Wilkinson of Mains Plumbing & Heating. The job was completed in 3 days as specified and on budget. Kit and his colleague Steve were punctual and worked through the day with good communication between them in respect of completing the work correctly and on schedule. I was very pleased with the workmanship and the end result. I was especially pleased with the fact I requested an additional task to be carried out (unrelated to the boiler job) and this was agreed and completed in conjunction with the contracted task and for a very reasonable fee. I would be happy to recommend the services of Mains Plumbing & Heating to anyone looking for a heating specialist.

We needed our central heating system flushed and a filter fitted. Kit Wilkinson provided a very helpful, friendly and professional service from initial phone enquiry to completion of the work. He answered all our queries and allayed any fears, which had been raised by others, that alterations would be needed to the system.

Kit has recently finished work at my property and both my wife and myself are extremely pleased with all the work carried out. Right from the request for quote to completion of the work, Kit has been very professional in everything he has done. Work included a new shower installation in the bathroom including a shower screen. Complete refurbishment of en-suite shower room, complete refurbishment of cloak room, laying of laminate flooring and alterations to stud walls including re plastering. Kit was happy to manage the entire project and keep us informed every step of the job.
