James is very polite, friendly and courteous, his work is of a fantastic standard and I'm sure we'll use him again many more times.

We just had a couple of small jobs. James was very quick to respond to our initial enquiry and came out the same day to give us a quote. He came within the week to complete the job, sorting out some messy pipework too. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely contact James again with any future plumbing issues.

I contacted James after we had a problem with our central heating. He came out and checked our system and presented us with some options. James was very professional and helpful and managed to come out quickly when our heating decided to malfunction. He was determined to get it up and working so we had some heating again. We would highly recommend James. He is so knowledgeable too, and patient when he explains what is happening.

I recently used James at 1st Choice Plumbing to replace the glass panels in my shower and repair a heated towel rail that wasn't working. James was always punctual, courteous and totally professional. Even though fitting the new shower panels was a bit more complicated than anticipated, he made absolutely sure that the job was done to the highest standards. It can be quite difficult to find a good, reliable plumber but I would highly recommend James and 1st Choice Plumbing.

Highly recommended. James visited my home within 15 minutes of my call, identified the issue with my toilet straight away and had it fixed with a detailed explanation of the cause within the hour. Call out fee is reasonable too. Will be using again for a bigger job I have planned.

Have used James twice in the last month and will definitely be using again. Was very quick to respond to my initial request, gave me very clear options and pricing for the work and then carried it out without drama. Used again today - contacted in the morning and he came and replaced a faulty ball valve that afternoon so delighted! Very easy to deal with and I'd have no hesitation in recommending.

James came very promptly on a Saturday morning to deal with a major leak in the top floor of 4 storey flats that had soaked the stairs. He quickly solved the immediate problem and realised there was a secondary issue. He was very clear about the pricing for the job and gave options for the less urgent issue, explaining what he was doing. A good example of the Little Green Directory being very useful - I literally picked him at random because it was so urgent.

1st Choice Plumbing gave me a quote to fit a new Franke kitchen sink, chrome mixer tap, outside tap and install some new isolation valves. They didn’t provide the most expensive quote, but sat nicely in the middle of the three quotes I had obtained. Once I had chosen the kitchen sink and tap from the choices they had provided me with, I started to experience several problems with taking delivery from the supplier, which resulted in the sink arriving some three weeks late despite multiple attempts to deliver it (wrong sink; then wrong colour etc); this resulted in me having to cancel with 1st Choice Plumbing on three separate occasions. I have to say that 1st Choice Plumbing (Mr James Guy) was totally understanding and supportive of the situation. He changed his diary and workload on multiple occasions to suit me, on one occasion the day before and when the sink did finally arrive he attended two days later. I cannot fault his workmanship; cleanliness and expertise in any capacity. To top it off, due to the work carried out which was less than he originally quoted for, he gave me a revised bill which was considerably less than his original estimate; therefore, I cannot fault his honesty and integrity either. The work carried out is superb and of a very high standard. I cannot recommend !st Choice Plumbing and Mr James Guy enough if you reside in and around the Wokingham/Reading area. He really is 5* and I will be using !st Choice Plumbing again next year when I change the family bathroom.

James Guy has just fitted new electric shower. He was really on the ball, did the job efficiently and was very reasonably priced for the work. He then came back and sorted out a small leak in my kitchen and would not take any money for doing it. Would recommend him, and will certainly use him again.

James is a genuinely nice man, sorted out our leak, gave a fair price. He was keen to help. He also found another leak that we had not yet noticed and therefore prevented bigger problems later. Based on the small job he has done I am very impressed, I will use again.

We had mishap with one of our radiators coming off the wall. An emergency service stopped the initial leak but we needed some help to repair the plumbing and re-fit the radiator to the wall. 1st Choice Plumbing came to the rescue. Firstly, they were very helpful in accommodating our requirements in coming to view the radiator and provide a quote - and then were ready to spring into action immediately after we had agreed a very reasonable price. They worked quickly and efficiently to repair the broken radiator and also to fix another which was loose and could have potentially suffered the same issue very soon. They tested the system to ensure everything was working correctly and they left everything clean and tidy on completion of the work. All in all, we're really pleased with the service that James delivered for us. I have no hesitation in recommending them for any domestic plumbing jobs you may need doing and will certainly use them again should the need arise.

Would recommend James to my friends and would definitely call him again if I have a problem. Already mentioned some improvements that I may need in the future.

I have no hesitation in recommending James and 1st Choice Plumbing. He is very thorough and conscientious and kept us closely involved by discussing with us before and during the work. James took on a tricky job to replace our hot water tank. This was particularly difficult due to poor access and a tight fit. James discussed options with us in a straightforward manner, he explained the work and steps required and kept us updated on progress throughout. James took great care to complete the work in line with our wishes and to a very high standard. He returned the following day to double-check that everything had been done properly.

James came in March to change a sink and taps, and re-site plumbing for the washing machine. I have delayed posting a review until now so that I can consider the longer term quality of the work. James was friendly and explained everything well without us feeling he was "dumbing it down" for us. He was extremely conscientious in his work and got us to check everything with him when he had finished so that we were all happy that everything was properly sealed etc. Although only three months on, everything continues to be in great working order. We had had a lot of problems with plumbers not turning up to do a quote, or failing to send the quote after visiting. It was a relief to find someone who was true to their word, kept us informed, and provided a high standard of work.

James supplied and fitted an outdoor tap for us, teeing off the kitchen supply and routing new pipework through external wall. His quotation was detailed and reasonable, he turned up at the appointed day and time and the tap works exactly as it should. He explained what he was doing and how he was doing it and cleaned up after the job. Very courteous and professional throughout.

After obtaining estimates to repair a leaking radiator at my home I asked James Guy to do the work. This involved flushing out the system, changing the radiator valve and replacing pipe work. 

I believe he charged me a good price for the job, he was punctual, polite and kept me informed throughout.  I was happy with his work and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
