Mark took the time to call me back when a number of other people didn't. He also kept me updated throughout about what was going on and when he would be able to make it. He put in extra effort to source a reclaimed stone window cill for me, and the quality of the work completed is great. I'm really happy with it.

My fence broke and collapsed during the recent storm. Mark responded to my inquiry quickly and professionally, provided me with a competitive quote and carried out thorough repair work. Including replacing broken fence panels, installing new fence posts and removing the broken sections of the fence. I would recommend Mark to anyone looking to get their fence repaired.

Mark has done an excellent job constructing our house extension. The workmanship has been done to a high standard and we are very pleased with it. Matthews Brickwork have done work for the Parish of Our Lady & St Anne's in Caversham on several occasions and have previously rebuilt walls around the property. On this occasion the church tower required considerable remedial work which included a full repointing along with the replacement of 200 bricks. Mark and his team were professional, punctual, and tidy throughout the two month project and completed the job on time and slightly under the quote they had originally provided to us.

Mark was very knowledgeable about what was required in rebuilding our garden wall and very thorough in his preparation. He was friendly and personable, including in his conduct with neighbours, and his timekeeping and method of keeping the area tidy were impeccable. The wall he has constructed from a mix of new and old bricks and additional structural features is impressive and we are very happy with the work Mark and his colleague carried out. A complex project with challenging topography, difficult access and at times inclement weather.The entire project was undertaken meticulously, thoroughly and in good humour. The attention to detail was exemplary and the organisation and tidiness was superb.

Having been highly satisfied with the new extension and downstairs toilet the team completed a year ago, we were happy to have them lay a patio and garden path this year. The weather was not in their favour, but they managed the work with a smile. They were reliable ,punctual and a very professional result transpired. This friendly and efficient team built two tall buttresses against a 2-metre 1960s retaining wall in the garden of my bungalow. They chose slightly different hues of brick so that each buttress would not look like a monolith. The effect was to turn a rather hostile looking wall into a more charming, traditional looking wall, transforming the whole garden. I am really pleased. Mark and his team were also tidy and timely. I would definitely recommend them.

We’ve recently used Matthews Brickwork to build a substantial extension on our 1930s 3 bed semi (2 story back and side, single story front). Mark and his team built the entire shell of the new building including: foundations, drainage, steelwork, brickwork and roofing. Throughout the works Mark dealt directly with Building Control and the other trades with the minimum of fuss giving us peace of mind to let him get on with the job. We remained in the property for the majority of the work and although some disruption was unavoidable Mark went out of his way to minimize the impact on us and always left the site tidy at the end of each day. Mark is very upfront and honest and we didn’t have any problems in dealing with him. Overall Mark and his team have done an excellent job, demonstrating the highest levels of workmanship and professionalism and we’d happily recommend them to anyone.

I would highly recommend Mark and his team of builders. They were always on site when they said they would be and worked fast and to a high standard. Mark showed his skill in both bricklaying and paving and was flexible with any revisions that had to be made. Mark and all of his team take pride in
